I write for sixth graders and grandparents.
Whether it’s a 500-word blog post or a 3-word banner ad, the best writing is clear, clean, and simple. Most people (even copywriters) don’t have the bandwidth to read huge blocks of flowery, poetic text. They’re not interested in doing a deep textual analysis of marketing jargon in order to suss out the substance (or, more likely, the lack of it). I like to keep smart sixth graders and grandparents in mind when I write, because they’re bright, engaged and curious but probably have limited awareness about a specific brand or space. They may not be your target audience, but they’re a great litmus test for clear, effective copy.

I started out working with nonprofits and then expanded to work with small businesses (both B2B and B2C) and large, well-known brands.
